Installation

The piece 'Conflict' was set up as a piano suspended from the ceiling of the gallery space. The piano was grounded by a rope that was attached to two large concrete cubes. The rope was tied around the piano and ran through an eye on the ceiling and on through an eye on top of a concrete cube over a chopping block (tree trunk). The rope was securely fastened around the eye in a second concrete cube. Beside the cubes was an axe, which enabled the audience to cut the rope, to destroy the piano or to kill another viewer of the work.
